i cant run winipcfg under win xp but when i go to run, type command and type ipconfig this is what i get:Ethernet adapter Broadband BT:
Connection-specific DNS Suffix . : IPAddress. . . . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.3
Subnet Mask . . . . . . . . . . . : 255.255.255.0
Default Gateway . . . . . . . . . : 192.168.1.1
nahoo recons that 192.168.1.3 is a network address, how can this be when this a stand alone computer, i dont understand. is this the number that ppl use to connect to my computer, when i host a game. or is it the Default Gateway?
put simply when im hosting, does my mate up the road type in 192.168.1.3 in the TCP/IP address bar to join me? i have added the kknd2 port number to the list of exceptions on mine and my friends windows firewall.
could any members or Administrator's/Moderators of this site, that run under windows xp do what i have done above, and see if the ip address that pops up is the one u pass to your friends.
my ip is loged here, but strangly i cant access it.
can anyone help! or maybe just email me my dam ip address,
thanks
